The biggest Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) trade of 786 billion cubic feet is between Algeria and Europe. This trade alone represents more than 11% of world LNG trade. Japan is clearly the biggest LNG importer, taking 42% of world imports. Japan takes its LNG from a number of sources, the largest being Indonesia (24% of Japanese imports), Malaysia (23%) and Australia (18%). In total the Asian countries of India, Japan, South Korea and Taiwan, China take 66% of world LNG

 

Europe is the second biggest import area taking 24% of world imports. France takes 34% of European imports, Spain takes 23% and Turkey 13%.
