Increasing shipbuilding capacity

In its September report Worldyards projects shipbuilding capacity or "output potential estimate" to increase by some 45% from 2007 to 2011, the biggest increase taking place in 2008. According to its figures, there is still capacity free for 2007 delivery and considerably capacity for 2009 delivery.

Worldyards estimates September ordering of tankers to be some 7.4 m dwt, including 11 aframaxes (7 coated), 18 suezmaxes and 7 VLCCs.
