PROF. DR. MICHAEL STÜRMER TO GIVE A PRESENTATION AT THE ROTTERDAM TANKER EVENT 2002

We are pleased to announce that Prof. Dr. Michael Stürmer has accepted our invitation to speak in the Open Market Session at our forthcoming Rotterdam Tanker Event 2002. The session takes place in the afternoon of Monday 15 April and Prof. Dr. Stürmer will talk on: The new strategic and geographical issues of the Greater Middle East as seen from the sea: Politics, religion, economics, rebellion and civil war.

Prof. Dr. Stürmer comes from a broad background and his career includes positions as Director of the Research Institute for Foreign Affairs in Ebenhausen/Isartal, research fellow at Harvard University, member of the Institute for advanced Studies at Princeton, and Professor Associé at the Sorbonne University in Paris. He has also held a number of other professorships and research engagements.

Prof. Dr. Stürmer is the author of several publications, including a book entitled ‘Transatlantic Policies for the Greater Middle East’. He has been an advisor on Common Foreign and Security Policy and is a member of the Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS).

Prof. Dr. Stürmer is currently Chief Correspondent of Die Welt in Berlin.
