IMPLICATIONS OF CHANGING TANKER RELATED LEGISLATION AND REGULATION

On 23 March, Kristian Fuglesang gave a presentation at the International Energy Agency (IEA) on the implications of changing tanker related legislation and regulation.

The main theme running through the address was that the availability of tankers is of course influenced by the rules and regulations made by local, national or international authorities.  It is highly unlikely that there will be a shortage of tanker supply, unless we see the introduction of flag discrimination, conflicting rules or irrational liabilities.  It is essential that the agreed rules and regulations are properly and efficiently implemented and enforced.  Please follow the link for an online version of the presentation,
