INTERTANKO’s 1999 Annual Report and Review has been adopted by the AGM at the Monte Carlo Tanker Event.

The Report features a series of articles which explain the relevance of INTERTANKO’s Chain of Responsibility concept to tanker design and operations, navigational safety, environmental protection and the ship/shore interface. The articles follow on from and complement the ‘A Day in the Life’ series of articles in the 1998 Annual Report. That series looked at the Chain of Responsibility from another vantage point - that of the individual people who make up the individual links and work together to ensure the safety and efficiency of tanker shipping operations. INTERTANKO has adopted the Responsibility Chain as a means of illustrating the tanker industry's good practices and of encouraging other sectors to review their own working procedures. The Report will be available on the web at the end of the month.
