We have received the following bunker alert from DNV Petroleum Services.

In the last week, our laboratory received a series of IFO's with sediment content marginally exceeding the ISO 8217-96 Fuel Specifications. The sediment levels range from 0.12 to 0.14.  This level of sediment indicates the fuel contains some suspended solids which can lead to clogging of fuel treatment equipment, filters and fuel lines and an increase in sludge formation.

If you have bunkered IFO in Singapore since February 22 you should take the necessary precaution, if possible, to trial run the fuel before leaving port. If in doubt send a sample to be tested at the nearest DNVPS laboratory.

The 5 wholly owned DNV Petroleum Services laboratories and 6 regional offices span a 24 hour time zone. If you require technical advice or information at any time you can call any one of our offices that is operational and they will be able to assist you.
