PORT NEWS

UK/Portland - MARPOL Marine Waste Reception Facilities partly closed

INTERTANKO has received information that due to technical faults part of Portland Port is temporarily without MARPOL Marine Waste reception facilities.  The 12,000 cubic meter capacity facility for handling MARPOL Marine Waste alongside berthing is on-line with pipelines capable of receiving oily waste and low flash point waste at 300 mt per hour. The 250 mt capacity dumb barge capable of taking the same facility at Inner or Outer Harbour anchorages is not available but hopefully will be back on-line within the next three to four weeks from 11 April 2001
