Germany/Hamburg –Green Award scheme discount

Hamburg has announced that effective from 1 July 2001 environmentally-friendly ocean going vessels calling at the port of Hamburg will have the benefit of reduced harbour dues provided they comply with following criteria:

CONDITIONS:

6 % discount if vessel is in compliance with either ISO 14001 or participating in the Green Award Scheme.

ALTERNATIVELY:
12 % discount provided the entire consumption of bunker fuels aboard does not exceed 1.5% sulphur, OR

The Nox-emissions of the main engine are 15% less than those prescribed in Annex VI of MARPOL 73/78 OR

The antifouling paint on the hull does not contain TBT.

The maximum discount a ship can achieve is 12 percent.  Any discount is subject to the respective certificates and bunker receipts being attached to the application and documentation submitted via the agent.  The initial duration of this programme is limited to 5 years.

Mexico/Cayo Arcas – increase in tug rates

With effect from 30 July 2001 the Cayo Arcas Tug rates increased to MXP 2.50 /HP per hour and are valid for 6 months.

Mexico/Coatzacoalcos - increase in tug rates

Effective as of 8 August 2001 tug rates (MXP) increased for Coatzacoalcos, Mexico as follows:

The above tariff will be valid for 6 months and does not include 15% VAT tax which must be added.

UAE/Dubai – new marine tariff rates

Effective as of 1 September 2001 the Dubai Port Authority will increase the tariff rates.
