Next year’s Tanker Event will take place in Rotterdam 14-17 April with the theme of “Tanker Visions”. The list of speakers will include leading figures from the industry, regulatory bodies and relevant organisations. As previously announced, Rear Admiral Paul J. Pluta, USCG, and Mr. Igor M. Ponomarev, Russian Maritime Register of Shipping and current Chairman of IACS, have agreed to speak at the Event.

Rotterdam is easily accessible for international travellers, only 45 minutes by train from Schiphol Amsterdam Airport, and our preferred hotels, the Westin and the Hilton, are both within walking distance from Rotterdam’s Central Station. In addition, Rotterdam airport offers daily flights to and from neighbouring countries. The Event will be held in the World Trade Centre and offers an opportunity for the INTERTANKO membership to visit a maritime centre in Europe, and at the same time re-new old friendships and business relations and discuss issues of importance to the tanker community.

In selecting Rotterdam for its Tanker Event 2002 , INTERTANKO has chosen a location of vital importance not only to the tanker trade but to world shipping in general. The Rotterdam Tanker Event presents an opportunity to visit a city with ambitions, determined to remain the largest port in the world.

Make sure to mark the dates 14-17 April in your diary, for the most important tanker gathering of the year.
