INTERTANKO’S ASIAN REGIONAL PANEL TO MEET IN SINGAPORE ON 15 OCTOBER 2002

The 12th meeting of INTERTANKO’s Asian Regional Panel will take place in Singapore on 15 October 2002. The meeting will be chaired by Mr KH Koo of the TCC Group. Representatives from MPA and Nippon Maritime Center will be giving presentations.

The 12th meeting of INTERTANKO’s Asian Regional Panel will take place in Singapore on 15 October 2002. The meeting will be chaired by Mr KH Koo of the TCC Group. Senior executives from some 18 tanker operators will be taking part in the meeting. Guest speakers from Singapore’s MPA and the Nippon Maritime Center will be addressing the forum. MPA will be discussing their security initiatives post 9/11, whereas the Nippon Maritime Center will focus on navigation aids in the Straits of Malacca.

 

INTERTANKO’s Managing Director, Dr Peter Swift will be attending the meeting. The Association’s new Regional Manager for Asia-Pacific, Mr John Fawcett-Ellis will also be attending the meeting for the first time and will act as secretary for the panel.

 

Key agenda items include security; regional activities including revisions to CP60; terminal vetting programme; emissions trading and discussions of policy issues in advance of the forthcoming Council meeting in Hong Kong.
