‘Business as usual’ in the Middle East Gulf

Despite the possibility of combat operations against Iraq, shippers active in the Middle East Gulf have been advised that there is currently no reason to alter normal commercial shipping operations.

Despite the possibility of combat operations against Iraq, shippers active in the Middle EastGulf (denominated by Iran as Persian Gulf and by the other littoral Gulf states as Arabian Gulf) have been advised that there is currently no reason to alter normal commercial shipping operations.  According to the Maritime Liaison Office (MARLO) Advisory Bulletin 02-03 dated 13 February 2003 there is no indication of immediate threats to commercial shipping in the area, other than ongoing vigilance concerning the worldwide potential for terrorist attacks.  All shippers active in the region are advised to review and exercise company contingency plans as appropriate, but otherwise continue business as usual.

Updates will be circulated in our Weekly NEWS and published on our website.
