Singapore special health declaration

The Singapore Maritime and Port Authority (MPA) has issued two Port Marine Circulars regarding severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS). The

First SARS Circular established a requirement for vessels to submit a special declaration at least 12 hours prior to arrival indicating whether any person on board has any symptoms of SARS, has been in close contact with anyone diagnosed with SARS, or has travelled to a SARS-infected region within the previous 10 days. Specific procedures are prescribed before the special health declaration is completed. The Circular also includes a Health Declaration Card that is to be completed by each person on board and provided to Singapore health or immigration officials upon arrival. The Second SARS Circular prescribes procedures to be followed by vessels placed in quarantine.
