INTERTANKO Executive Committee nominates Mr. Stephen Van Dyck as next Chairman

Following the meeting of the Executive Committee in September, the Committee has unanimously agreed to nominate to the Council meeting next March Mr. STEPHEN VAN DYCK as the next Chairman of INTERTANKO, when Lars Carlsson is due to step down after the maximum period of three years as Chairman.

Mr. Van Dyck has been a member of the Council for four years, and a member of the Executive Committee and Vice-Chairman of the North American Panel since 2002. He is Chairman and a major shareholder of Maritrans Inc., listed on the NYSE, and operator of ocean-going tankers and ATBs.

Since 1985 he has been Chairman of The West of England Club, and is currently Chairman of the Chamber of Shipping of America.

Stephen is a past Chairman of PICA, the financial oversight board for Philadelphia, a Trustee of Webb Institute of Naval Architecture, a past Chairman of Sonat Offshore Drilling (now Transocean) and a past Trustee of the Philadelphia Orchestra.

One of his principal hobbies is sailing and he was tactician in the Americas Cup and has been the skipper of hundreds of ocean races.

Stephen is 60 and lives in Tampa, Florida, with his wife Janice.
