INTERTANKO co-hosts seminar in St Petersburg

In view of the rapid development of Russia as a supplier of energy, INTERTANKO has joined forces with Mare Forum in organising a seminar on Maritime Transportation of Energy from Russia and Central Asia.

The seminar will be held in St Petersburg 5-6 October 2004 and will focus on challenges and opportunities open to the maritime industry in the provision of transportation services and in the development of an infrastructure capable of delivering oil and gas to international consumers. Since many production sites are located in remote regions and exposed to extreme climatic conditions, bringing the energy to the consumer requires continued innovation and initiative from tanker owners and their partners. The seminar will therefore seek input from a wide range of speakers with expertise from the fields of economic and political analysis, environmental concern, finance, oil and gas developments, and long-distance transport of energy including pipelines, shipping and expansion of port facilities.

The seminar is sponsored by the Russian Maritime Registry of Shipping and a special discount will be given to all INTERTANKO members and associate members.
