Communications and PR Committee looks at industry image management and internal marketing of INTERTANKO.

Managing the image of the industry and internal marketing of INTERTANKO were among the principal issues the Communications and PR Committee (CPR) debated at its 31st meeting in London 

During the discussions on managing the image of the industry, the Committee reiterated the need to ensure a clear distinction between managing the public relations for INTERTANKO and its strategy for managing the industry image, the latter being a much wider and multi-dimensional issue. The Committee recommended that the CPR ad hoc working group should make an analysis and evaluation to ensure a systematic approach to increase the variety and spread of initiatives. 

The issue of internal marketing of INTERTANKO was the subject of the afternoon debate with a presentation from Mark Stokes, V. Ships, with a member’s perception of INTERTANKO.  

Other issues discussed were the Athens Tanker Event, 10-13 April 2005 and the INTERTANKO Annual Report. 

Two new members joined the Committee: Rajaish Bajpaee, Eurasia International Ltd., and Mark Stokes, V.Ships.
