3 October – Chemical Tanker Sub-Committee of the Americas (CTSCA), League City 

The sixth meeting of INTERTANKO's Chemical Tanker Sub-Committee of the Americas (CTSCA) will take place on Monday, 3 October 2005, 9:30 until 15:30, at SouthShoreHarbourResort & ConferenceCenter, 2500 South Shore Blvd., League City, TX77573 Telephone 281-334-1000. A continental breakfast and lunch will be provided. 

The meeting agenda will include: 

·          An update of all action items from CTSCA 5 held 8 June 2005;

·          An update on MARPOL Annex II including a review of all products still missing data; a discussion on the classification of alcohol mixtures; and an update on US implementation;

·          Regulatory updates including update on the activities in the Port of Houston/Galveston and HOGANSAC;

·          A presentation by the Department of Homeland Security Customs and Border Patrol on current operations in the Port;

·          A follow-up report on the Electronic Bill of Lading Workshop held 30 August 2005;

·          A presentation on IMO ESPH 11 ( to be held 23-28 October 2005) Preparations

4 October – North America Panel, Wyndham Greenspoint, Houston 

A meeting of INTERTANKO's North American Panel members will be held at the Wyndham Greenspoint Hotel in Houston, Texas, on 4 October 2005. Items to be discussed include recent U.S. legislative issues, a U.S. Coast Guard brief from Sector Houston, a status report on the Joint Tanker Project, terminal vetting database, ballast water management, revision of Annex II of MARPOL and phase-out of single hull tankers.

5-6 October – Seatrade Maritime London 

Excel Centre, London – includes sessions on EU Maritime Employment, led by the UK Minister of Transport, and a session on The Image of the (Shipping) Industry, led by the IMO Secretary General.

18 - 22 October - Federation of National Associations of Shipbrokers andAgents (FONASBA) Annual Meeting, Tokyo 

INTERTANKO will attend and provide input on the main developments of the Documentary Committee and interact on issues related to shipbrokers and agents.

24 October – Latin America Panel, Miami, followed by Vetting Seminar 

A meeting of INTERTANKO's Latin American Panel members will be held at the Palms Hotel in Miami Beach, Florida on 24 October 2005. Items to be discussed include the latest tanker market outlook, an environmental crimes briefing by the U.S. Department of Justice, recent U.S. legislative issues, ballast water management, revision of Annex II of MARPOL, the phase-out of single hull tankers. A vetting seminar will be held in the afternoon.

24 - 25 October – Hellenic Committee and Forum, Athens 

A meeting of the Hellenic Committee will be held over dinner on 24 October and the meeting of the Hellenic Forum on 25 October. These events will take place at the Metropolitan Hotel, Athens.

9 November – INTERTANKO Communications and PR Committee, London

10-11 November – INTERTANKO Council, London 

The autumn Council meeting will take place on 10-11 November and will be held at the International Maritime Organization (IMO) in London. This is the first time INTERTANKO is holding its Council meeting at the IMO, and to mark the event the IMO Secretary-General Efthimios Mitropoulos will deliver the welcome remarks on the first day of the meeting.

8 December – International Seminar on Tanker Safety, Pollution Prevention and Spill Preparedness, Shanghai 

Sponsored by ITOPF, INTERTANKO and OCIMF, this free one-day seminar will be held (0900 to 1730) at the Four Seasons Hotel, 500 Weihai Road, Shanghai. The invitation, preliminary programme and booking form are now available.
