    Strike First Fire Extinguishers may not discharge properly

    The U.S. Coast Guard has recently issued a Safety Alert regarding approved fire extinguishers made by the Strike First Corporation of America .   Strike First has determined that the valve stem seats in a number of its 2.5 and 5 lb dry chemical fire extinguishers assembled between December 2002 and February 2004 may prevent the extinguisher from discharging properly when the lever is activated.......     Tanker fleet growing faster than oil demand

    Over 2004 and 2005 the tanker fleet has increased by 55 VLCCs, 39 suezmaxes, 71 aframaxes, 53 panamaxes and 129 tankers of 10-60,000 dwt. This year only 18 VLCCs and 24 suezmaxes will be delivered, but 53 aframaxes and a record 52 panamaxes will emerge from the shipyards into the market place, in addition to 166 tankers of 10-60,000 dwt.
