14-16 September - Tripartite Meeting, Seoul

This year the annual “Tripartite” Meeting, organised by the Round Table of international shipping associations, will take place 14-16 September at the Sheraton Grande Walkerhill Hotel, Seoul, Republic of Korea.

 

These meetings provide a platform for shipbuilders, classification societies and ship owners to discuss issues of common concern. On this year's agenda are: performance standards for cargo and ballast tank coatings; shipboard waste management; industry model clauses; air emissions regulations etc.

 

Previous Tripartite Meetings, held in Shanghai, Beijing and Yokohama, attracted delegates from leading shipbuilders, classification societies and ship owners.

27 September – Asian Regional Panel, Singapore

The next meeting of INTERTANKO’s Asian Regional Panel will take place on Wednesday, 27 September 2006 at 12.30 at the Four Seasons Hotel, Singapore [Windows East (20th Floor)]. The meeting will be chaired by Dr J.H. Lee and attended by the Association's Chairman, Stephen Van Dyck, Managing Director, Dr Peter Swift, and INTERTANKO's new Regional Manager for Asia, Tim Wilkins.

27 September – Members’ Reception, Singapore

INTERTANKO's Chairman Stephen Van Dyck will host a reception on 27 September 2006 from 18.30 to 20.30 at the Crescent Ballroom, Four Seasons Hotel, Singapore, in appreciation of INTERTANKO's departing Regional Manager, John Fawcett-Ellis, and to welcome the new Regional Manager, Tim Wilkins.

2 October – Vetting Seminar, London

A half-day Vetting Seminar will be held on 2 October in London followed by dinner in the evening for the Vetting Committee and for seminar speakers. A maximum of 70 may attend the Seminar as guests. Click here for the draft agenda and registration form.

24 October - North American Panel meeting, Houston, Texas

Rear Admiral Brian Salerno, the Director of Inspection and Compliance under the Assistant Commandant for Prevention, has agreed to attend our meeting and provide an overview of the latest developments within the U.S. Coast Guard.

2-3 November - World Shipping (China) Summit, Shenzhen

INTERTANKO is delighted to once again act as honorary organiser of the World Shipping (China) Summit 2006 to be held at the Wuzhou Hotel in Shenzhen, P.R. China.

 

This year’s summit will be centred around the topic of “Managing Change” and focus on the changing pattern of world trade and shipping, especially the developments within BRICs – Brazil, Russia, India and China - and their effects on the world shipping industry. INTERTANKO Chairman Stephen Van Dyck will be a principal speaker in the Bulk Shipping session.

 

The main organisers of this event are COSCO, Drewry, China Maritime and The Journal of Commerce. The summit attracts senior executives from the region and the international community, with a total attendance expected to exceed 600.
