INTERCARGO/INTERTANKO lunch & seminar on crew resource management

The next London lunchtime seminar for UK-based INTERCARGO and INTERTANKO members is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, 19 November 2008.

Capt. Tim Crowch, President of Advanced System Safety Management System Safety Solutions (ASSM), will be speaking on "Crew Resource Management: ensuring a better Error Tolerance in Marine Operations".

With his 32 years of experience in the airline industry, over 20 years of which he was involved and contributing to Aviation Safety and System Safety Management, he is able to draw parallels between the aviation and marine industries to share lessons learned. He will focus on the importance of not treating the threats and errors resonating from the human factor in marine operations as a disease, and will emphasise how safety management, culture, training and applying proper threats and error management can lead to a better error tolerance.

The seminar will take place between 1200 and 1400 at the INTERTANKO/INTERCARGO joint office, St Clare House - 9th floor, 30-33 Minories, London EC3N 1DD. Please arrive at 1200 for a 1215 start of presentation, followed by questions and a sandwich lunch.

Only a few seats are left . We would very much appreciate it if you could register before 1200gmt, 17 November 2008 (by e-mailing chantal@intertanko.com)."
