INTERTANKO representing your interests at MSC 88 24 Nov - 3 Dec in London

The ongoing meeting of the IMO’s Maritime Safety Committee (MSC 88), which will last 8 days 24 November until 3 December, will be covering a number of issues of importance to INTERTANKO’s Members, including inter alia lifeboat release hooks,  piracy, LRIT, maritime security, the role of the human element, goal-based new ship construction standards, protective coatings, safety of navigation.


The INTERTANKO team covering different parts of the meeting at the IMO’s London headquarters includes Joe Angelo, Ajay Gour, Colin Jappy, Gunnar Knudsen, Dragos Rauta, Howard Snaith, Kathi Stanzel,  Peter Swift, Michele White.

 

With many thing still ongoing as we go to press, we summarise below discussions held during this week’s session on piracy and armed robbery against ships. The conclusions of other ongoing discussions and next week’s sessions will be reported in our next Weekly NEWS.
