Sulphur in fuel reminder for ships calling at the west coast of the US

The California Air Resources Board (CARB) has issued an advisory (Marine Notice 2012-1) regarding upcoming changes in the vessel fuel sulphur requirements beginning 1 August 2012. The advisory reminds readers that ships must comply with both the California Ocean-Going Vessel Fuel Regulation and the North American Emission Control Area requirements. Ships’ steering gear tests benefit from IMO unified interpretation circular
