Update on changes to CDI-Marine SIR Report validity, Operation Procedures & Integrated Ship Inspection System

The Chemical Distribution Institute’s (CDI) Marine Executive Board, which consists of chemical representatives and ship owner representatives, has, following unanimous agreement at its meeting in May 2012, agreed to changes to the CDI-Marine – Ship Inspection Report (SIR) validity, Operation Procedures & Integrated Ship Inspection System (ISIS).

The changes, briefly, are as follows:

1.  The validity of the CDI-SIR will be reduced from 13 months to 12 months, from the date of inspection.

2.  All new SIRs in the ISIS database will remain in ‘ACTIVE’ status until their 12-month anniversary. Any subsequent CDI-SIR will no longer supersede or archive the previous report, unless there is a change of ship operator. In other words, multiple SIRs for the same vessel can be ‘ACTIVE’ at the same time.

CDI has issued a statement advising all CDI-Marine participants of these changes in detail. To view the CDI statement, please click here.
