California State collecting hull fouling information

A voluntary programme has been established by the California Marine Invasive Species Program to gather information from ships on their anti-fouling systems. The programme invites commercial operators to fill in a short Hull Husbandry Survey and provide information on the vessel’s anti-fouling system, its application and status in terms of cleaning.

It is clear from the issuing body and the type of questions the form contains that the purpose of the survey is to gauge and assess the risk of invasive species being introduced into California waters from hull fouling.

The forms are to be sent to the California State Lands Commission Marine Facilities Division: email: or Fax: 562-499-6444.
