Australia – drills of free-fall lifeboats

The Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) has issued Marine Notice 11/2007 stating that, in accordance with an IMO recommendation, it is immediately implementing a change to the requirements for the drills of free-fall lifeboats on Australian ships. Similarly, it will not object to foreign ships conducting similar drills of free-fall lifeboats in Australian waters where those arrangements have been accepted by the relevant flag administration.
