Concentrated port state control inspection campaign to focus on ship security

Lloyd’s Register Classification NEWS No. 10 of 18 June 2004 contained a Statutory alert stating that in order to promote the International Ship and Port FacilitySecurity (ISPS) Code and to ensure its effective implementation, various port state control authorities are advising that they will simultaneously carry out a concentrated inspection campaign (CIC) commencing on the implementation date of the ISPS Code, 1 July 2004, and lasting until 30 September 2004.

To date, advice received by Lloyd’s Register indicates that the following port state control authorities will be carrying out this CIC: the Paris MoU, the Tokyo MoU, the US Coast Guard and the Black Sea MoU.
