IMO Representatives meet at INTERTANKO’s London office

INTERTANKO and INTERCARGO hosted a successful reception for the International Maritime Organization’s (IMO) Maritime Attaches’ Club (MAC) this week, welcoming over 30 permanent state representatives to the IMO.

The Maritime Attaches’ Club is a London-based association which brings together all the permanent state representatives to IMO. The MAC members gathered at the London office of INTERTANKO and INTERCARGO for a presentation to introduce the work of the two organisations to MAC members, both old and new, taking them through the workings of each of the associations and providing an overview of the principal issues of the day. This was followed by a buffet lunch.

The gathering proved a success with many of the guests requesting further discussion and dialogue on a number of the issues presented. This was coupled with a strong acknowledgement of the efforts made by industry at IMO and the need to work more closely on key issues.

This is the first of these MAC receptions, with future gatherings focusing more specifically on pertinent issues of the moment and up-coming IMO meetings.
