Introduction of Ship Vetting System by the Bahrain Petroleum Company BSC

BAPCO have noticed that many ships that they have found to be substandard were being nominated for loading products from the Bapco Terminal at Sitra.

In order to ensure safety of the terminal and to protect the marine environment, the Bahrain Petroleum Company BSC has decided to introduce a Ship Vetting System starting 1 July 2004, with full implementation starting 1 January 2005. This system will encompass all types of vessels loading hydrocarbon petroleum products from the Bapco terminal at Sitra.
