MSC 83 - Neil Ferrer elected as Chairman of IMO's Maritime Safety Committee

Neil Frank Ferrer from the Philippines was unanimously elected as Chairman of International Maritime Organization's (IMO) Maritime Safety Committee (MSC) at MSC 83 in Copenhagen last week.

 

Ferrer is the Alternate Permanent Representative of the Philippines to the IMO and is also currently designated as First Secretary and Consul at the Embassy of the Philippines in London, U.K.

 

An exemplary graduate of the prestigious University of the Philippines, Ferrer contributed to the development of the Philippines National Marine Policy, and was Executive Officer at the Maritime and Ocean Affairs Center (MOAC) in the Department of Foreign Affairs, Manila. He also holds an MSc in Economics (with Honours) at De La Salle University in Manila and an MA in International Boundaries (with Distinction) at the University of Durham, UK.

 

He is also currently the Chairman of the International Mobile Satellite Organization Assembly.
