Nor-Shipping: First Vetting Seminar in Oslo with record attendance

The first Vetting Seminar in Oslo, arranged in conjunction with the Norwegian Shipowners’ Association, took place on 2 June and was attended by over sixty delegates with representation from oil companies including Statoil, Fortum Oil and Gas and Norsk Hydro

A presentation was given by Geoff Snow, SIRE Manager, and Paul Markedis, OCIMF Director, which provided an update and overview of SIRE. Wilhelm Maglessen, Vice President, Det Norske Veritas, spoke on structural assessment and CAP. Oil major requirements were addressed by Graeme Blevins, Head of Condition Assessment Services, Consultancy Services Group, and Brian Henry, CAP Product Manager, Lloyds Register of Shipping. Finally, an update of Statoil vetting requirements was presented by Ragnor Halvorsen Ship Vetting Manager, Statoil

The Seminar was chaired by Howard Snaith, Marine and Chemical Director, INTERTANKO.
