Panama Canal Tanker Inspection Programme

The Panama Canal Authority has issued Advisory 9-2004 reminding Canal users of the Tanker Inspection Programme. A tanker is selected for inspection based on factors such as the chemical and physical properties of its cargo, historical performance during previous transits, the age of the tanker, and whether it is single or double hull. No charge is imposed if no deficiencies are found. However, if a deficiency is found, charges will be assessed for chemist, pilot, and launch services.
