Report available on IMO’s Evaluation of Safety and Pollution Hazards Working Group ESPH 11

In preparation for the 54th session of the IMO’s Marine Environment Protection Committee meeting (MEPC 54) to be held 20-24 March 2006, the formal report of the 11th session of the IMO’s Working Group on the Evaluation of Safety and Pollution Hazards (ESPH 11) has been submitted to IMO as part of the MEPC 54 Agenda.  ESPH 11 was held 24-28 October 2005.  The agenda items discussed in the report include:

  • The evaluation of cleaning additives, the evaluation of new products.
  •  Review of the Procedures for Port State Control adopted by the organisations by Resolution A.787(19) and amended by resolution A.882(21).
  •  Review of MEPC.2/Circ.10 on Provisional Classification of Liquid Substances Transported in Bulk List of Synonyms for Vegetable Oils and Animal Fats.
  • Outcome of the most recent session of the GESAMP/EHS Working Group.
  • Amendments to MEPC/Circ 265.
  • Revised IBC Code format.
