SIRE Director elaborates on SIRE to INTERTANKO's members in Singapore

The Oil Companies' International Marine Forum's (OCIMF's) SIRE Director, Captain David Savage, gave a presentation (click here to view) to over 60 INTERTANKO members in Singapore last week. The well-attended event was an opportunity for INTERTANKO's members to discuss developments relating to SIRE (Ship Inspection Report) inspections and ask Capt. Savage for clarification on various aspects of the inspection system.

At a question and answer session lasting over 90 minutes, Capt. Savage fielded detailed questions on the Vessel Inspection Questionnaire (VIQ) as well as more general questions regarding inspectors and their training.

Capt. Savage welcomed the opportunity to discuss matters with INTERTANKO's members and requested further feedback on inspections and inspectors from those present and the INTERTANKO members in general. Those members wishing to provide feedback are invited to use INTERTANKO's confidential reporting form:

INTERTANKO would like to express its thanks and gratitude to Capt. Savage and OCIMF for taking the time to present and take questions on the SIRE system.
