SIRE reports – necessity of submitting owners' comments

We have been advised that one of our members' vessels was not accepted by an oil company on the basis that the owner had not submitted "Owners' Comments" into the SIRE database. However, the reason the owner had not submitted owners' comments was that no deficiencies had been raised during the inspection.

Owners are advised that, even when no deficiencies have been raised and therefore no comments have been received, owners should still submit owners' comments into the database, otherwise it shows up in the system as if they are outstanding.
