Security compliance shows continued improvement internationally

The IMO has issued a New Release stating that both ships and port facilities are showing improvement in compliance with the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code. According to reports submitted by member governments, 89.5% of over 9000 declared port facilities worldwide are now in compliance. Compliance for ships is in excess of 90%. Reports are lagging from various nations in Africa and some nations of the former Soviet Union.
