IMO – new draft regulation on oil fuel tank capacity and protection

Further to our article in Weekly NEWS No. 8 of 25 February 2005, the IMO has issued a News Release stating that a draft regulation has been developed on oil fuel tank protection. Under this draft regulation, large ships would be limited to a maximum capacity of 2,500 cubic metres per oil fuel tank, which would have to be protectively located.
