The California Office of Spill Prevention and Response (OSPR) and the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) are co-sponsoring the first semi-annual Environmental Response to Oil Spills (EROS) course. The course will be presented in San Diego, CA on March 8-11, 2005.

There are no registration fees for this interactive course, which aims to provide information on the effects of oil in the environment, the scientific basis for minimising environmental impact and maximising recovery, tools and techniques to assess and cleanup an oil spill, and the response resources available in California.

The second course will be held in San Francisco in the autumn of 2005 (date to be decided).
