Houston and Galveston announces the availability of the Recommended Guidelines and Operating Procedures for INS Armed Security Requirements

This document was approved by the Houston Galveston Port Security Advisory Group Port Security Subcommittee and subsequently endorsed by the US Coast Guard Captain of the Port and the INS District Director.

The Captain of the Port of Houston and Galveston have announced the availability of Recommended Guidelines and Operating Procedures for INS Required Armed Security Aboard Vessels docked within the jurisdiction of the COTP Zone.  This document was approved by the HOGANSAC (Houston Galveston Port Security Advisory Group) Port Security Subcommittee and subsequently endorsed by the US Coast Guard Captain of the Port and the INS District Director. 

The Guide itself was produced by a HOGANSAC Security Guard Working Group which included representatives from the US Coast Guard, INS, and Customs Service, as well as vessel owners/operators, facility owners/operators, vessel agents, and security firms and is available here.
