Singapore’s new bunkering code of practice (CP60) a step closer to being published

The Technical Committee convened by the Singapore Standards Authority (SPRING) has now completed its work on the revised code of practice for bunkering in Singapore (CP60). Representing owners’ interests on the Committee was the Association’s Council member for Singapore Mr Olav Eek Thorstensen, Thome Shipmanagement Pte Ltd, and the Association’s Regional Manager, Mr John Fawcett-Ellis.

The new version of CP60 is substantially different from its predecessor and has been brought in line with the latest safety standards and MARPOL Annex VI provisions. INTERTANKO welcomes this new edition of CP60. The draft was then considered and approved by the Chemical Standards Committee on 13 January 2004. The next stage is that the draft will be open for public comments from 6 February 2004 for a period of 2 months expiring on 7 April 2004.
