INTERTANKO attends Port State Control Committee meeting of the Vina del Mar Agreement

At the invitation of the Vina del Mar Agreement Secretariat, Carlos Juan Madinabeitia of Tradewind Tankers, the incoming Chairman of INTERTANKO’s Latin American Panel, represented INTERTANKO at the 13th meeting of Vina del Mar Agreement Port State Control Committee held from 19-22 September 2006 in Margarita, Venezuela.

 

He provided the Committee with an overview of INTERTANKO's mission, organisation, membership criteria and objectives in improving and standardising port state control efforts around the world.

 

The meeting was attended by 29 delegates from 13 countries in the Latin American region. There was a good discussion of Port State Control (PSC) issues and exchange of information.
