These figures assume all SH tankers will trade to 2015 or until 25 years old. However IF no SH tankers trade after 2010 (except DB and DS vessels), 2010 phase-out would be c. 60m dwt. To maintain balance, 15m dwt of additional newbuilding is required for 2010 in addition to the 21m dwt already on order for that year (thus 36m dwt total) IF there is a 4.5% pa increase in tanker demand from 2007.
