Basrah Oil Terminal Clause
23 November 2012
INTERTANKO's Documentary Committee has been advised of delays to vessels when loading at the Basrah Oil Terminal. The causes of the delays have included weather and lack of availability of tugs. The Committee has prepared the following model clause, which members might wish to consider when fixing to this load port.
“Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in this charterparty, when loading at Basrah Oil Terminal, Notice of Readiness may be tendered upon arrival at customary anchorage. All time, upon expiration of 6 (six) hours after Notice of Readiness, shall count as used laytime and/or time on demurrage, without interruptions, until the vessel leaves the berth following completion of loading, except time spent shifting from anchorage to berth and any delay solely attributable to the vessel."
