CHEMICAL TANKER SINKS IN THE CHANNEL ISLES

While the vessel's owners Marnavi S.p.A., Italy, are not members of INTERTANKO, the Association regrets any incident of this nature. INTERTANKO is happy to see that all the seafarers were safely evacuated by the authorities who should be congratulated for their role in such hazardous weather conditions.

The facts related to the cause of the accident are still unknown.  However INTERTANKO is following subsequent reports and urges a full investigation into the cause of the accident to be made public.
