INTERTANKO welcomes new Marine Director John Boreman

We are very pleased to announce that John Boreman started work last week for INTERTANKO in the position of Marine Director. Having started out as a deck cadet in 1977, John comes to INTERTANKO with extensive tanker knowledge and commercial shipping experience. He also gained a degree in civil and structural engineering and worked for a while with Ove Arup & Partners.

The bulk of his previous seagoing experience (he has been sailing as Master since 1998) has been on LPG and LNG tankers with AP Moller-Maersk, where he also worked ashore for two years 2007-2009, rising to the position of Fleet Group Manager (LNG/LPG). He also gained experience in the product/chemical trades. He has more recently been sailing as Master with the Shell/Nakilat (Qatar Gas) fleet.

John will be the new Director of INTERTANKO's Marine section, the position that Howard Snaith held before his departure in August, with responsibility for piracy and maritime security, matters relating to ports & terminals, vetting, port state control, human element issues and navigational matters.
