Lunchtime Seminar – Reporting of Incidents, the ISM Code and Privilege

The next lunchtime seminar of 2012 for UK-based INTERTANKO and Intercargo Members is scheduled for Tuesday 26 June, at our combined offices in the Minories.

We are very pleased to announce that Peter Glover, Associate, Norton Rose, will present the seminar entitled Reporting of Incidents, the ISM Code and Privilege.

At the seminar, Mr Glover will:

  • Review the requirement for the reporting of incidents under the ISM Code
  • Consider the reporting of incidents with a view to both disclosure and privilege
  • Discuss the classes of documents likely to be disclosed
  • Highlight some of the commercial considerations for masters, owners and operators which arise as a consequence of the reporting of incidents.

Mr Glover is a disputes lawyer based in London specialising in shipping and admiralty law. In addition to being a qualified lawyer, he holds a Master Class 1 Certificate of Competency and has over 11 years’ experience in the maritime industry.

His practice involves advising clients in relation to all aspects of ‘wet’ and ‘dry’ contentious and non-contentious matters. He has attended casualties worldwide and has particular expertise in oil pollution matters. In addition to shipping litigation, Mr Glover has experience in general commercial advisory work and criminal law and has appeared as an advocate for clients in board of inquiry and court environments.

Time: 1200-1400 (arrivals 1200 for 1215 start of presentation, followed by questions and a sandwich lunch).
