BUNKER ALERT - HIGH CCAI FUELS IN CARTAGENA, COLOMBIA

Although CCAI is not a marine fuel specification parameter, it is recognized as an indicator of ignition quality. Certain medium speed engines, particularly some older engines, may encounter operational problems when burning high CCAI fuels. Congo – curfew after attempted coup As a result of the attempted coup in the Democratic Republic of Congo on 16 January 2001, a curfew has been imposed from 2200 hours till 0600 hours.  The airport was re-opened already 17 January.  It is reported that port operations in the neighbouring countries have not been affected by the coup attempt.
