    No more hard copy U.S. Notices to Mariners from 1/05

    The U.S. authorities have decided that they will no longer print and provide hard copy Notices to Mariners (NTMs). Cost cutting is one reason, while at the same time they will focus their resources on other issues. NTMs will still be available to download from the internet.     According to the latest information from RS Platou Research (which has collated information on each tanker), there are only five non-SBT trading tankers left above 70,000 dwt.
