INTERTANKO promotes lifeboat user group at SASMEX 2007 - Safety at Sea Seminar and Exhibition, 24-25 April in Brighton, U.K.

INTERTANKO will be participating at the Safety at Sea and Marine Equipment Seminar and Exhibition (SASMEX 2007), which will be held 24-25 April in Brighton, U.K., at the Hilton Brighton Metropole Hotel.


The keynote speaker for the seminar will be Neil Ferrer, acting chairman of the IMO’s Maritime Safety Committee (MSC), while the sessions will focus on the latest developments in evacuation systems, security, regulation, and training & education. The Exhibition at the same venue will showcase the latest in products, services and technology available to the international maritime community.


On 24 April the Awards Dinner will recognise winners in categories covering equipment, systems, management / operations, and training. The marine explorer, Dom Mee, will be the principal speaker at the dinner.

INTERTANKO, along with its partners, will be taking the opportunity at this event to promote the recently announced Lifeboat User Group and Joint Feedback Forum established by the International Life-Saving Appliances Manufacturers' Association (ILAMA) together with INTERTANKO/INTERCARGO.


The main aim of the "Lifeboat User Group" is to facilitate a forum where end users of lifeboats and associated equipment can provide manufacturers with feedback in order for the manufacturers to improve their equipment. Constructive feedback covering all aspects of the lifeboat concept, design, handling, maintenance or location is therefore encouraged. INTERTANKO/INTERCARGO  guarantee that the sender's personal details will under no circumstances be revealed.
