U.K. – foot and mouth restrictions lifted

The U.K. Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) has issued a Press Notice stating that the European Union (EU) restrictions on the export from the U.K. of meat and dairy products have been lifted. As a result, meat and dairy products sourced within Great Britain for consumption onboard vessels can be carried aboard as normal, and waste stemming from the consumption of these products can be landed as previously.

Accordingly, the MCA will now cease to broadcast advice from the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) on the restrictions as part of its Maritime Safety Information Broadcasts.
