Ann Sæther completes a record 30 years with INTERTANKO

Ann Sæther, Assistant Manager Ports & Terminals and Legal & Documentary Section, recently completed a record 30-year stint working for INTERTANKO.

Prior to joining the Association, Ann spent some ten years working at the Norwegian Shipowners' Association (NSA), where her father, Birger Sæther, was also employed. He played a central role for 50 years within shipping and was widely known in the industry for his considerable expertise on port cost information. When the NSA closed its port information office, INTERTANKO took over the tanker ports section and Ann assisted with the switch-over.

At INTERTANKO, Ann has worked with the Ports & Terminal Section and the Legal & Documentary Section, and holds a central position in the Freight & Demurrage Information Pool service to members.

Her current responsibilities under the Ports & Terminals Section include contact with INTERTANKO's world wide network of port agents, and maintaining and updating the combined web site of Port Disbursements and Port Reception Facilities. She has played a key role in the transformation of these services from a manual to a greatly enhanced web-based service which is available to all INTERTANKO members free of charge.

Congratulating Ann for qualifying for a Norges Vel's medal "for long and faithful service", Managing Director Dr Peter Swift expressed the appreciation of INTERTANKO’s membership for her quiet but positive and unswerving support over many years.
