About the Comparison of Shelltime 4 (1984), Shelltime 4 (2003) and ShellLNGTime 1 (2005)

This work has been completed by Hill Dickinson and INTERTANKO, with the assistance of Shell and Braemar Seascope. It includes an Executive Summary followed by a detailed analysis of each clause of Shelltime 4 (2003) and ShellLNGTime 1 (2005), highlighting the changes in each of these forms compared to Shelltime 4 (1984). The book provides guidance mainly on legal matters.

These three charterparty forms are widely used in the market by owners and by charterers. We hope that the discussion of the wording and interpretation of the charterparty clauses contained within the book will be of considerable assistance to owners and charterers who are fixing tankers on these forms.
